Interviews!
Finally got an interview!!!!!! After several weeks of grueling applications, someone has finally reached out to me for an interview. Both offers an experience where I could learn outside of my usual role but I’m worried about the feedback on the company culture. Having been to 4 companies, there’s only 1 company that made me feel cared for and supported. My transition to my last company was due to prestige and money motivation, so I am now hesitant to accept a role again where I think I only settled.
I’m hoping to get a sign somewhere, something that could help and guide me, cause honestly? I could use some adult advise here, I’m kind of scared to trust my gut again when it comes to my professional life.

Patience
This is the word I have learned to embrace in every aspect of my life – be it personal, work, or hobbies.
I am dabbling and renumerating between these things and patience has been my golden virtue to keep me sane.
In my personal life, due to my tendency to dwell on the past, there are some things that triggers me recently, I’m not going to specify cause writing about it would mean I dwelled on it more than I have to, and if I dwelled on it, that means I’m giving away my good energy for it – I don’t want to give it my energy anymore. Anyhow – like I said it’s been triggering me lately, and what I do to contain the overwhelming emotions is to pause and wait, and contain my need to dwell on it. It’s really been helping me a lot.
And for my work life, I do not have a “work” life per se but I’m referring to my application journey. Transitioning to a whole new facet is certainly not easy, I have revised my resume more or less 50x already, because there are facets I want to get into. I haven’t been lucky yet, and it makes me sad, but I haven’t given up hope yet. I am going to take certifications for HR while unemployed so that I would have something to present on the roles I wanted to apply for. I’m leaning towards HR Transformation, Change Management, Global Mobility, and Learning & Development. What do this these three have in common? They are all policy reliant, close stakeholder management, and project management. I know I’m a hardworking and agile person, I just need to have a chance to be interviewed. Patience patience.
Lastly, my hobbies, this one has been taking up my time quite a lot. I registered for Make/Shift event at Stickercon and I’m quite excited and also nervous. I’m really not prepare at all, I don’t have the tools nor the art to present, I only have the idea and desire to try it so I registered despite it all. My sister will be helping on the logistics and as the creative person, I am entrusted to create all the art and ideas. Now that I’ve had the chance to rest, it’s quite easy to focus on the task at hand I’m doing. I’m also reading again!!! Hehe, I missed it so much, but my hyper immersion on the stories I read makes it hard for me to finish a book. So far though, I’m in my second book this month, yey for me hehe. Out of all the 3 aspects, this is by far the least amount of patience I’ve had to use, but I still use my patience nonetheless. My desire to do shortcuts in my drawings and to search spoiler on the book I’m reading (to rid the anxiety) is still there, but I haven’t done it yet.
So far, life isn’t perfect, I have my doubts and worries, but I still consider this a good life. 🙂

3 Weeks after last day of resignation
The high from my recent resignation has now subsided and I feel much more calm now. For days I have prioritized relaxing, resting, and reconnecting to my hobbies. In span of 3 weeks of not working, I have already noticed some changes on myself. Physically, while I am still not back to my normal weight, I feel like my face shows more glow now than before, I don’t look like someone who couldn’t get any sleep because I’m taking care of 5 kids – you know what I mean? I look and feel rested. When I say rested, it doesn’t mean I only lazy about without doing anything productive. Since I have a lot of time on my hands, I looked for things I can do around the house, took online courses, did drawings and trying to get back to reading.
I’m also slowly regaining my sense of emotion, this is such a big feat for me, because until now, I did not realize how much I lost my ability to feel things when I watch movies or series. No wonder I gravitate more in watching old series over and over and over again since 2022. Last week I started watching K-drama and western movies again and boy! do I feel like human again. I cried, laughed, got mad, sad, embarrassed, and etc. That felt so nice, I forgot how nice it is to evoke those emotions from movies or series, it’s like an emotional catharsis.
I say all that, but really I’m still struggling mentally, but that’s progress. I realized this might be a lifelong healing and I’m learning how to live with everything without spiraling.
Thank you again Elie (my work persona), if it’s not for your resignation, I wouldn’t have this time to rest.
Sharing my favorite art I created. 🙂

I either burn or thrive – I guess we’ll have to see :]
I have always been an advocate of self improvement, always pushing to get what I want and trying to thrive no matter what the obstacle is. I like to see who I might become every time I surpassed a challenge. I am not the type to quit that easily, and certainly not the kind to be affected by measly(lol jk) ‘workload’.
Years ago, I created this blog to document my journey of being an introvert because that certain trait is my insecurity. I have a hard time navigating my life ever since college and especially after several traumatic experiences. Now that I’m – I am not happy about this – “older”, I realized that my introvertedness is not an insecurity that caused my struggles as an adult, surprise surprise, its my ‘trauma’. That blog documentation, obviously, I have forgotten about it, my work and responsibilities has took up all my time that I wasn’t able to continue or write anything until last year, so I’m trying again.
Anyway, how does this relates to my statement and my main sentiment on the title? Well it’s honestly nothing big, I just resigned from my work with no back up plan. I think you can already guess the sentiment behind my title, if not, read on. For my introvert paragraph, I will expound that further later.
Going back, the first and second quarter of my 2026 has been EXHAUSTING – but still fulfilling 🙂 This year I got to introduce and put my innovative ideas go live that makes our work process more streamlined and compliant. I have also lead several projects and one of them being the biggest one which is the reorganization of the company in whole Europe – I will call it ERP (Europe reorg project). As the ERP lead, I spearheaded the process workflow, allocation of tasks, alignment and updating of hiring templates and email verbiage, data reporting, training, workload monitoring, weekly/daily check in for work bottlenecks and feedback. I even provided RCA to some escalations we received during that time period. Basically, it was a roller coaster ride that while it has tested my limit in heavy workload and leadership, I think it has really paid off because in less than a year of working in that company, I have already gained the recognition of my stakeholders and leaders. I am not pining for it if I’ll be honest, but I am still proud of it because I know I worked hard all throughout the ERP project. I did not half-assed my work, nor did I let my internal struggles relent me from successfully completing this project. I made sure to extend any help I can provide to my colleagues who’s supporting the project and made sure any urgent cases are tended to and closely monitored. I really gave my exceptional effort – I do deserve the recognition and I’m thankful for my stakeholders for acknowledging that long before my managers did. It really was an exciting yet exhausting quarters of my 2026, I was already thriving, and this is no small company, it’s a massive multinational company that is not only big but also one of the staple mark in Filipino culture. It’s pretty well known globally. It was not an easy decision for me to resign. I did not just realize that overnight, it’s a well thought of decision that I had to think over and over and over and over again – a painful one but a must decision for the sake of my sanity.
Despite on what I would call a successful feat, I still resigned – this is where I will expound the introvert paragraph. Since my first week as a new hire, my manager is already providing feedback on my personality i.e. me being introvert. He was apparently concerned whether I will fit in just fine with the team, but this is not what got me to resign. It’s the enduring 1-whole year of repeated feedback on my personality whenever I raise work concerns about my workload and my colleague who does not do her part of the work, worse is, that specific colleague keeps on escalating me and sending screenshots to my manager whenever I try to help her – I never said anything that is below the belt, all my words were all professional, my manager even acknowledged this, despite that, my manager’s still main concern is my personality being too strong hence why that certain colleague feels uncomfortable. Just thinking about it makes me have a deep anxiety again on my stomach, it feels like I was bullied and abused at work. No one will have the same thought as I did because all of them are close and my manager favor those who are more outgoing, but that’s what I really felt. It has taken most of my sleeps, sanity, and it gnawed deep on me and my anxiety that it pushed me back again to my depressive and self harming thoughts – that’s when I decided I had to draw the line. They tried to negotiate with me, they offered sabbatical leave or have one of my colleague to cover some of the work in our region, neither worked for me because – one, taking a sabbatical leave means I will go back with the same team, my main concern of my workload and colleague is still not addressed. Two, having a colleague take all the work makes it seems like I’m incapable of helping a fellow colleague (as if over functioning is not enough). From the start, they’re already making it seem like I’m incapable of working well with the team (remember my managers concern on my first week as new hire?), even when the concern is only with that colleague who doesn’t do their work, which in turn I’m left to clean up for them, it’s exhausting, and yet they still frame it as rapport issue, as in me not being able to work well with my colleagues because I’m an introvert. That repeated dig is what got me, because it made me feel like an outcast, and in turn has really triggered my trauma.
There’s more stories about that, more instances where I was attacked and isolated, it’s a year of anxiety I endured. I still cry when I think about it, it’s both the pain of enduring those 1-whole year and the pain of leaving my stakeholders whom I’ve really grown attached to. I was good and thriving at my work, the possibilities from that feat was really painful to let go.
I am scared, I don’t know if I’ll be able to get in a good company again, whether I will make the same impact again, more importantly, I don’t know if I’ll find the same joy at my work again. I love process improvements and project management, and I hope to get that same opportunity again in a good company with a good organization.
I really am so scared, but at the other end of the thread, I am also hopeful. I am taking therapy whilst resting. I don’t know how this move will play out for me, but I guess we’ll know months later whether I will burn or thrive.

I do have to admit that I’m truly, completely, extremely dishonest… to myself.
I haven’t been honest to myself for a really long time.
I always thought I’m smart in a sense that I have the keen awareness to recognize what is right and wrong because I always notice the little things that other people miss and I always feel what other people feels in the room. I thought this is my moral compass, having the ability to see and feel the room is a gift to maintain a peaceful relationship. In noticing these things, I have learned to adapt and act in favor of the situation and other people.
I can’t recall exactly when and how this jelled in my head, but I think ever since as a kid I have always been this way. I always notice people’s pattern and I have learned to adjust to them. For a time, this always works in my favor, I never got into a fight as a kid, I’m always favored by adults as the most obedient and nice kid, and getting to be friends with different groups in school is quite easy. Would I say this still works now? Yes always has been and it has also landed me a good and real friends along the way as we share the same beliefs. It has also helped me create moral values that I know I will want to hold for the rest of my life and is aligned on a person I want to become.
However, this is not without a caveat, and this is where I have to reveal and admit that this pattern is not the true moral compass I thought it was. See, I know that life is a harsh world and reality, and providing ease and healing for other people has always motivated me to choose kindness and convenience for overall good, but then, I realized – is someone doing the same for me? No. Should I expect someone to be that way to me? No. For so long, I think I have told myself that being selfless was always the right thing to do, that no matter what I do, as long as I’m selfless, nothing bad will happen. I no longer feel this holds true. I am not without flaws, I still have my selfish moments, and in times when I did so, I feel extremely guilty that I will then try to undo it or compensate in some form, like being nice to people who I know have done me wrong and force myself to forgive them to keep the peace and remove the chaos I thought I created. I can’t cite one instance on how often this pattern happens because it’s always different, however the outcome will always be the same, I am always the one left without peace.
This pattern has led me to have a build up resentment and frustration to those people, but most of it is towards myself. Why me? Because I can’t possibly hold them accountable for something I knowingly chose to do. That is when resentment builds up, when I realized no accountability was made because I chose to cater their comfort more than mine. Frustration – because once it happens again I feel like I’m obliged to remain understanding because I chose to ignore it the first time. This realization is extremely uncomfortable, as this clashes on the built belief I held ever since I was a kid. The thing that I thought was the right thing to do has put me in an uncomfortable predicament that makes me hate myself. That is when it started to feel that the supposed moral compass I had was not a real moral compass.
I think I’m subconsciously aware of it already, but it is only recently when it really surfaced in my head that it forced me to ponder over it and made me really think the situation I always get myself into. Was I always a victim? Or in some form or way did I inadvertently cause myself to be in that situation? For the sake of this ponder moment, I would like to first say that this doesn’t absolve what other people did, but I do admit, I think the repetitive situation is partly because I have always catered to their comfort and not mine. This admission isn’t so much difficult as it is painful – and that pain is what unsettles me that’s why I haven’t really been honest to myself. Why do I decide to face this now? Something happened that I don’t really want to disclose but it has made me really ponder on this so I won’t be on the same situation again.
Well – wish me luck. 🙂

Love letter [5 October 2025 – 17 January 2026]
Hi,
It’s been a while. Have you been well? It has been 86 days today since we had our painful convo. I think I can now comfortably say that I am okay and peaceful. I still remember you from time to time, but the pain has become less and less.
Each day I breathe, your name still pass through my mind. I wonder how you are, where you are, and if you’re okay. I know you told me that I have to let myself be mad, but I find it so hard when I have so much unspent love that I didn’t get to show or make you feel. There are times when I get pissed by how you handled everything – I’d get mad when I think of your disrespect, and how you fooled me into thinking we’re friends. Those will come to me but only during melancholic moments, and once I cried it out, I immediately forget all about it. Despite everything that has happened, you gave something more valuable than the lesson from the pain – it’s the capability to feel love once again. I dont think Im hopelessly in love with you, but Im certain I can and will be if we ever had the chance. The reason why it’s painful is not because of how deep my feelings were, but rather the potential that my feelings holds. I realized now how much love Im capable of giving. All this time, I thought I was numb – unable to yield unconditional feelings for anyone. It’s painful to think that I won’t get to show this feelings to the person who made me feel this way for the very first time again.
Fast forward to January – I still find myself going into relapse from time to time. At this point, it seems I have forgotten the painful memories, and was left with all the good ones. It’s frustrating because my heart knows how much you’ve hurt me, and yet my brain seemed to choose to forget all about it. I keep remembering the good times, the way you were there when I needed to vent, the way you always reach out when topic dwindles down, the way you try to be careful with your words and ensure you use the right terms to not hurt my feelings, your comforting presence, and hugs. My brain just miss all of it. I miss the good version of you. I keep wondering how did I lost you. Was it something that I did? Something I failed to do? I keep replaying everything, and in every versions, my brain told me I am partly to blame for losing you. I’m sorry – I wish I was better. I wish I was more aware of your feelings. I wish I could’ve met you where you were before you left that phase. I was only able to meet after you left there, and I blame myself for it. I shouldn’t have, but I do.
I had our conversation deleted on your side – I could no longer go back. I will be carrying this until I forget about it. This love letter will serve as my confession of pain, love and regret. You will still be that guy – but I’ll forget about you someday.
Thank you for everything, P – and I’m deeply sorry.

Forgive yourself even if no one tells you
Apparently, I made this prompt years ago. Idk when but it was left in my drafts untouched with nothing but the title. So I decided to pick this up and continue where I left off.
My thoughts back then is probably different from what I have in the present, but the fact that I still have something to write means this simple reminder will still endure even as time has passed.
I’m going through a lot of things right now. I am emotionally in pain, I am in my most down moment of my mid 20s that coping is no longer working. Ever since I got over my depression phase on my teen years, I was alwasy strong and detached. Everything may still bother me but nothing has ever made me go back to hurting myself.
Until this moment.
Sounds dramatic? It isn’t. That’s really how I feel even as I am typing this.
Being in my mid 20’s I now have the awareness of the wrong choices and decisions I made as an early 20s folk. No, I don’t regret it, but the what ifs linger from time to time.
I have to remind myself that I’m just a 16 year old in my 20s who’s navigating life alone. I am not perfect. I have lapses. I have my ups and downs. I have my mistakes. I have my achievements (no matter how big or small). And I have the rest of my life ahead of me.
While I didn’t do everything perfectly, I am sure I always tried my best to be the best version of myself. I don’t have to compare myself to anyone because I am the sole standard I want to beat.
I will keep upgrading, improving, and learning. I have all the time to be better.
So no matter what mistakes or challenge come my way, I will always put my 100% to overcome them.
I don’t have to beat myself up. The fact that I’m alive, I’m already doing great.

The pain of silence
I have always been a quiet kid. People deduced it as being shy but I see it as being reserved. Only opens up when they feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable.I’m an expressive kid, and even before then I always feel and care deeply to everything around me. They call me a cry baby and sensitive for feeling those things, but I never took it to heart.
Over the years, I continued as the expressive and reserved kid, but much more careful and discerning. Too careful that I didn’t realize how high my walls had become. I guess, like any other human, I was deeply affected after all? I can still make friends, but it takes a lot of effort to put down those walls I had built. It was tougher than my resolve to make friends so I ended up losing some of the friends I made, and it takes years before I can make one again.
I am hyper aware of who I am, what I am, and what I want to become and accomplish. Part of the goals I wanted to achieve is to be able to function normally without trying so hard to let people in. I am lucky enough that all the people I met have immeasurable patience to get to know me. They never gave up, and were always supportive. I was able to let them in and they have filled the void that I never knew I missed before my walls were even built. One particular person was able to trench and completely dig and crush all those walls.
No, they were not a romantic interest.
No, we were not romantic.
No, we never dated.
It was plain and platonic as it could get, until it didn’t. How do I want to tell this story? Perhaps at the very beginning?
No — I think spoiling the end would be better.
Unlike any other story, mine was anything but a happy ever after. A story that was not closed with anger, manipulation, and toxicity, but with silence, ambiguity, unspoken tenderness, and a lot of hurt.
We met as a form of escape. We were each others’ soft distraction, but never meant to be each others’ destination. There were no expectations and promises, it was light, easy, casual. It was the most ideal friendship or situation I have ever experienced that the convenience and comfort has made me decide to dismantle a wall that was never knocked down before and could never be built up again. I have no interest on anything other than the one we currently have, but that person has softened all my walls and barriers that they were able to free the kid in me that has always desperately try to escape from the shackles of the past. I never knew how much I missed falling for a person until that moment.
I didn’t think that being seen would make me feel so vulnerable to trust them enough with my heart. They offered comfort during the times I am in doubt and feeling overwhelmed, they respected my feelings and depth, and they hold space and time for me to adjust and open up. I appreciated it so much that I reciprocated those efforts. What I thought was just my politeness, was actually me starting to fall in love with the person I shouldn’t fall for. When I realized what was happening, it was too late to go back. They started to change, they offered less of their time and attention, and they no longer considered my feelings. I convinced myself that those were not out of cruelty. They were just incapable to handle accountability to what has become of us. There’s a chance that I’m kidding myself, but I refuse to believe everything was a lie.
I see the short responses, I see the delays, I see the inconsistency, I see the withheld truths, and I see the flickering presence. It’s not a mistake, it was bound to happen. They arent sure of me. I was just not that person for them. I knew this but stayed — was I expecting for more? Partly, maybe. I was forced to be in a place of limbo, wondering if what I feel is real or just a fragment of my imagination. I wanted to confirm it.
We talked daily, shared parts of ourselves that was never shared before and were honest with everything, and yet somehow, we are ambiguously attached, with no clear boundary to stop from. So many words were exchanged and yet the important ones remained unspoken. We care for each other, and yet it failed to show the true affection that wanted to surface. The longing, unbounded boundary and unclear intention made everything so confusing that — what was once a safe place became an unsafe territory that questions your worth and reflects your insecurity. I hated that, but I never showed it. Enduring that for months was difficult, until I couldn’t any more and decided to let go — they didn’t stop me but also didn’t let go of me. How does that even happen? It’s partly my fault, I like them so I sacrificed my boundary and comfort. It’s a delicate situation that one wrong move will make it all collapse. And it did. One misunderstanding was all it took. Just like my feelings, I also knew this is bound to happen. And because I was aware of everything, I empathized with how they felt so I never lashed out or hang an apology and honesty that I deserve above their head. He was gone ever since then.
They left with a promise of going back to me once their emotional, mental, and physical being has balanced out. When did it ever for anyone? I wasn’t stupid, they must think I was. I didn’t correct them, I went on my way, focused on my life and felt okay for once despite the hollow feeling of sudden emptiness in my daily routine of conversation. I was lonely but I was okay and thriving. Unexpectedly, they did come back. They came back for a closure that they believe I deserve.
Allow me to summarize the outcome of the closure conversation — I removed my energy from that grim experience. I blocked and removed them from my life.
I’m confused if this is conventional but the closure they gave was anything but for me. Months, I grieved alone, never held grudges, never chased him and for answers, and never demanded anything. When that closure was brought up, the pain has resurfaced with a whiplash that I didn’t have anything to ground myself in to prevent myself from spiraling. There was no disclaimer, just bomb of truths that are meant to set me free yet here I am. I wish I could say it word for word but just remembering them, makes me feel nauseous. I couldn’t cope no matter how hard I tried. I recognize the sentiment of the revelation, but it lacks consideration and respect — I couldn’t process it with them in my line of field so I blocked them.
I wish I could put into words how difficult my last three weeks were. My emotions were erratic, I cry randomly, I keep questioning my worth, just when I thought I poured everything out, the realization will suddenly crash down on me that it was real, we no longer have anything that connects us. I kept going back, replaying everything that was said and that has happened, I feel blindsided, betrayed, and used. The friendship I thought we built was all an imagination that they used to get what they want. I questioned everything they did, I did, and everything that we shared — was that all a lie? I was sure it wasn’t.
With all the hurt and regret that I feel, a wave of realization has dawn on me. It wasn’t a betrayal, they didn’t blindside me, it was an inevitable outcome between a person that wants to express their longing, and a person who is unable to accept them. It’s not even about reciprocation, it’s about the inability to accept the warmth that was given to them. I wasn’t used unknowingly, I let them despite their actions. I wasn’t taken advantage of, I was just honest and they just basked in it willingly. It was my choice to give all the warmth and care, I knew what was happening — then why does it hurt so much? It was because I was left in a limbo, discarded when things became difficult, then when the guilt creeped up to them, they made me shoulder all the pain. I couldn’t let myself be disrespected even more than I have. I know I deserve better.
I realized then, how much silence I endured just to keep them in my life. I silenced my pain, boundary, thoughts, and feelings just to protect that person. They took all of those things as green light to further push me to the edge and expect me to be okay with it. I wanted to keep them in my life so much that even when they lied to my face, I accepted it and never confronted them about it. No matter how much
They remained silent even when they knew I was hurting. They stayed quiet even when I was falling apart. The one time they decided not to be silent was the one and only time I wanted them to be. A lot of things were said but also remained unsaid. A lot of words were exchanged, but I still feel estranged. I wonder how to make of that closure. Maybe I never will.
The silence between us was never given the right timing to be revealed. I still wonder if that was for the better or if that was the reason of our demise.
I’m still hurting from everything that has happened, but I no longer feel regretful. That person will remain an important story of my life, but they will never be resurfaced again. They will remain just that — silence from my past.

8/6/2022 – thoughts after work today
I am working in one of the biggest company in the world but I’m not gonna mention it here to remain confidentiality.
I wouldn’t say that I’m shy, I wouldn’t say that I’m friendly either. I guess I’m only friendly to people in selected moments. Like when I think they have something interesting or when I think they’re kind and approachable. I’m also pretty honest but most of the time I always feel wary.
I don’t know where this kind of behavior came from. I’m scared and always insecure. Sometimes I think, this may be because I didn’t have a good foundation as a kid. People always made me feel ashamed for being expressive. No one listened when I wanted to express myself. I used to be bubbly and friendly but I don’t know what happened to me. Maybe I do, but I’m just in denial of it.
I want to improve but where do I start? I want to help myself but how?
I desire to feel belonged, seen, and acknowledged.
I don’t want to be miserable anymore.
